Open Publishing Is Looking For A Fullstack REACT Developer

Open Publishing is looking for a Javascript expert to bring our UI and UX to the next level.

At Open Publishing we build the infrastructure for the publishing of the future. Open Publishing covers the whole value chain of publishing from e-book production to distribution, marketing, reporting and royalty management. In 2018, Open Publishing became the largest German e-book distribution platform, used by more than 100 publishing houses. The software also powers high-performance websites with 30 millions visits and seven figure turnover annually. Open Publishing was founded in 1998 and has about 40 employees.

About The Position / Your Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the frontend of our publishing suite for cutting edge publishing services
  • Develop the UI and UX of the websites and optimize conversions
  • Cooperate closely with the backend developers to build a great product and great features
  • Participate and prepare software design decisions and code reviews
  • We are on the way to a micro service oriented architecture
  • Be part of an agile Scrum team in Munich and the Ukraine


About You

  • You have experience with Javascript, React and ideally some experience with C++ and/or Python
  • Experience with testing frameworks and Cucumber is valuable
  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Full-stack mindset
  • Extensive experience with REST APIs
  • Solid understanding of service-oriented infrastructure/architecture
  • Good understanding of the challenges of a good user interface and the joys of conversion optimization
  • Test- and behavior driven development is not foreign to you
  • You value clean code
  • You are not afraid to work with code from others
  • Docker-experience is highly appreciated
  • Academic degrees are great, but not required if you have the right experience
  • You are fluent in English and ideally but not mandatory German
